Nashville

Turns out, Nashville's a really awesome city. We aren't hard core county music fans and the museums and similar things are really expensive, so we looked elsewhere for our entertainment.

Stacey has a friend/fellow teacher who used to live in Nashville who gave us some awesome suggestions (thanks Emily!) starting with The Pancake Pantry (www.thepancakepantry.com). As we drove by, this is what we saw, although in this picture, we are actually already in line and you can see the kids at the very back.
I asked the kids if they wanted to stay and the girls said no, emphatically, but I was on the fence. Brady said yes, so we stayed despite their complaints. Turns out, after eating, they all thought it was worth it. It was, without exaggeration, incredibly good and we only stood in line about 45 minutes.
We then walked about a block to Vanderbilt University, which is one of the schools I applied to, just to take a look and it is a beautiful campus. The kids, needless to say, were bored to death.

Emily suggested we check out Centennial Park, which was beautiful in itself, but also because it contains a full-sized replica of the Parthenon, which is in Athens, Greece. It was built for some kind of centennial celebration back around the turn of the 20th century. I didn't read much of the details inside, because, you know, kids. It was also a temple dedicated to Athena, so there is a giant statue of Athena inside.
Afterward, we just hung out in the park, looked at the ducks, and chilled. The temperatures have been awesome compared to Texas and there was a nice breeze here.
The kids found snow cones and offered to buy them themselves, so what am I supposed to say.
Emily also suggested checking out the Opryland Hotel but parking was $24, probably because of all the people like us who park just to come in to see it, so we skipped it. We went to Walmart to get groceries again (man, I really don't like Walmart) and then headed home. I did laundry and the kids got some ice cream from the office which was really good. I've been trying to get a picture of each camping site, so here is our spot at the Grand Ole RV Resort (http://www.grandolervresort.com/).
While getting ice cream, we noticed a band starting to set up outside, so we hung around to hear them and they were really good. They only did covers, but it was fun and they seemed to really enjoy themselves. Many of the RVers came to hang out and it was fun to chat and see where everyone was from. The kids made friends fast and Haley found a dog to walk somehow.
We pick up Mommy and Jacob tomorrow!!!
